Mom Date

Friday night was all about me and my mom.  It was a ton of fun.  We can't help but get giddy in Beaufort.

William headed to Land's End Thursday night to shrimp with my dad.  Mom and I headed to Beaufort Friday after work.  We had a great trip down and decided to stop at our favorite waterfront restaurant, Panini's, for a glass of wine and appetizers.  We have great intentions to try other places in Beaufort, but we always end up back at Panini's.  The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, and the views are breathtaking.  Plus, we had entertainment from Hemingway's, the next-door bar.

We started with a glass of Chardonnay.  (I'm still getting used to blogging and forgot to write down the name.  Sorry.  It was a crisp, delicious choice.  Not buttery, at all.)

The bread and olive oil was perfection.  It may have been our favorite part.  The olive oil contained fresh Parmesan and garlic.  Yum.
We chose mushrooms stuffed with crab and shrimp and topped with fresh Parmesan.

We also had the appetizer House pizza.  Panini's has the best pizza cooked in a brick oven inside the restaurant.  The House sports a mix of pesto and marinara sauce with fresh mozzarella.

A second glass of wine may have been shared.  :)

Although the meal was perfect, Mom and I did contemplate, more than once, leaving our decadent mushrooms and steaming pizza to dance outside at Hemingway's.  They were giving away free t-shirts to anyone brave enough to embrace the dance floor.  We were so close.  The boys were quite disappointed in our decision.
