6 months

Happy 6 months, baby boy!

You are finally sleeping through the night! You drink your last bottle at 7:30 and sleep until 7:30 the next morning. You are completely weaned and are taking four formula bottles a day. You usually wake up around 7 and play in your crib until we come and get you.

You aren’t crawling, yet, but you are close. You stick your bottom in the air and try to scoot forward. You turn all around in your crib at night, so we know you are on the move.

You LOVE to give kisses. You grab our head and give a slobbery open mouth kiss. You still love Finn and reach out to him whenever you see him. Mrs. Wall lent us her walker, and you walk all over the house. Your little legs are getting so strong.

You take a cat nap in the morning and sometimes in the evening. You take a long 2 to 3 hour nap every afternoon.

You eat food twice a day including rice cereal, oatmeal, apples, bananas, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, and carrots. Your favorites are peas and apples! You’re not so sure about bananas, yet.

You love being outside, and are immediately content when we walk on the deck.

You weigh 20 lbs and are 28 inches long.  You are in the 85th percentile for weight and height.

Most people say you look like your daddy but have your mommy’s eyes.

You had a big month. You were christened on March 11th, had a big play date with 4 other babies at our new mom’s group, and attended two birthday parties (Owen and Garrett) in one day. You were a busy boy!

5 Months

My baby boy is growing! He turned 5 months old on Saturday, February 25th.

He is eating cereal twice a day, in his high chair, and loving it! We are going to begin introducing some veggies very soon.

He is wearing 9 month clothes, size 3 diapers, and weighs 18 lbs.

He is still waking up once during the night, but other than that sleeps from about 8:30 pm to 8 am.

His favorite thing these days: Finn. He loves him. If he starts to get fussy, I just call Finn over, and Wills immediately reaches for him and settles down. He also loves his books. He holds them in his hands and stares at the colors on the pages. He loves the color red and reaches for everything from the ketchup bottle, to the Doritos bag, and the red letters on my UGA t-shirt and his UGA burp cloth. He still loves music. Pandora has been very helpful to have on our I-phones. We turn it on a Lullaby station when we are trying to get him to nap away from home. We use his classical music mobile when he is in his crib. When we put him down, he immediately turns on his stomach and pushes up on his arms. This boy is strong! It is time to put his gyms away, because he no longer lies still underneath them. He has found his feet and loves to play with them.

He talks and growls all the time. I think most babies squeal in delight. Ours growls. I’m not sure where he got this from, because Finn rarely growls, but it sounds like a mix between a lion’s roar and a pirate’s “arrgh.” A handful of times we’ve heard a little chuckle, but no big belly laughs yet, only growls. :)

We are still trying to get in the habit of signing to him. He mostly sees the signs for Mommy and milk. A couple of times, I think he signed Mommy back to me. I was so excited! Not consistently, but hoping to get there, I sign Daddy, eat, bed time, bath time, play, read, dog, aunt, uncle, more, Gammy, Papa, good morning, hello, bye bye, Dede, and baby. I do remember to sign the alphabet to him when we sing ABC’s.

Pictures coming soon!
